SUPPORT FOR SERVICES PROJECT |

Various individuals pledge their support for service program during the year. The modus operandi of each scheme would be circulated in due course.
- Vision Center(setting of New Vision centre) (Support of Rs. 25000/-per centre by Ln J K Jajodia – Lion Woodland)
- 100Tricycle for Handicapped
- Cost Rs. 4000/- will be provided to Club @ Rs.2000/- each (50% subsidy) upto 100 Tricycle.

MULTIPLE CONVENTION |

The Multiple Convention will be held at Guwahati on 23rd & 24th April 2011. The District will be motivated to participate in large numbers. It will Be ensured that all PST (Elect) positively attend and join the seminar Organized for them.

AREA FORUM |
| |
The 2011-12 Area Forum will be held in historic Lebanon, West Asia. Lions of the District will be encouraged to join the Lions.

INTERNATIONA LCONVENTION |
| |
The next International Convention is slated to be held at Seattle, USA From 4th July to 8th July 2011. Lions from all parts of the globe will Converge to exchange idea.

REGION / ZONE SET UP |
| |
The club will be divided into 6 Regions & 12 Zones with each Zone Chairperson will be incharge of 4 to 5 clubs.
Zone Chairperson would be required to study the strength and potential of each club in their zone. At the Cabinet training they would be required to put forward their membership activities and fund raising target, based on the strength and the potential of the clubs of the zone. The zone chairpersons would also be required to part host one Zonal Advisory Committee meeting every quarter. Region Chairpersons will be required to organize one Regional Conference within stipulated time. |

FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME |

As per tradition of our District the Lions would continue to celebrate the major Indian festivals together – Durga Puja, Diwali, Holi respectively . Various sports meet would also be planned for the Lion members during the year. A indoor Cricket tournament and Badminton for spouses in November would definitely from part of it. Workshop and seminars on a various topics would be held for the benefit of lion numbers through the year.
Fellowship trip to Vaishno Devi & various places of Rajasthan has been planed which gives great opportunities to our members & their family to enjoy the fellowship of Lionism.

DISTRICT CONFERENCE |

The XIth Annual District conference will be held on 18th March 2012 at Hotel Swistel. |

HONARARY COMMITTEE MEETING |

In keeping with the tradition, the honorary committee will meet time to time through the year . These meetings would proceed or follow the Cabinet meetings. PDG honoring would be held in February 2012. |

CLUB INSTALLATION MEETING |

We would like to ensure that all clubs complete their installation ceremony within July 2011.
No guest should be invited for the District Governor’s Annual visit. |

MEMBERSHIP |
| |
A membership plan has been drawn up with the purpose of nurturing the new clubs formed during the year, for membership growth in existing clubs and for club extension. Clubs would be encouraged to activate the dormant members and create a vibrant atmosphere in their club through interactive and interesting meetings.
Each cabinet members and committee member would be required to sponsor at least one new no during the year and would also have to ensure that their spouse is a lion.
Each Zone Chairperson is expected to ensure opening of at least one new club and ensure that each club has net members growth.

FIRE CRACKERS FOR FUNDS |

The district will make available gift boxes of fire crackers against donation coupons just after Bijaya Sanmelan. The quality and quantity of the fire works would make fund – raising for clubs very easy. |

TRAINING PROGRAM |
| |
Residential training for cabinet would be held on 21st & 22nd May 2011 at ITC Fortune , Lake Land Country Club , Kolkata.
The PSD Elect will be encourage to participate at the Multiple Convention PST Schooling to be held at Guwahati on 23rd & 24th March 2011. A day long training program would also be held for them on 29th May 2011 at Park Hotel.

DISTRICT DIRECTORY |

The District Directory would be released on the 1st July 2011 on the District Foundation Day. The District Directory is an important tool for information and communication etc. through the District. It is alsio an ideal means of covering printing costs against fund raised from advertisements published . This year an amount of Rs. 15 lacs is expected to be collected through the scheme and the District intends to use the surplus after covering for different service activities.
An opportunity for the clubs to raise their fund for service activities by following scheme :
• 40% incentive if payment received along with advertisement from.
• 30% incentive if cheque received till 14th August 2011.
• 25% incentive if cheque received afterwards.
Incentive disbursement for full payment received till 14th August will be made on 15th August 2011 Programme.

SIGHT FOR KIDS |

The sight for kids program has been operating most successfully since last several years. Since then, the sight of thousands of Children from school , economically challenged localities and remote areas have been restored, and awareness programs for guardians and teachers have been preventing many more children from being exposed to risk. This program will continue to be one of the priorities of the District in the current year. |

LIONS QUEST PROGRAM & T.T.W |

Lions Quest provides research – based tools that develop responsibility and caring behavior in youth. It teach effective listening , decision - making , conflict resolution, and appreciation of diversity.
Lions Quest cultivates critical thinking and positive expression. Lions Quest challenges students to have high , but realistic expectation. It contributes to a safe and secure learning environment . It involves students in decision making and problem solving.
Lions Quest workshops are being planned during the year through which 1500 students will benefit from this program.

PEACE POSTER |

Each year, Lions Clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International peace poster contest in local schools and youth groups.
The contest encourages young people worldwide to artistically express their vision of peace.
The theme of the 2011 - 2012 peace poster contest is “ Children Know Peace” Clubs of the district are being encouraged to organize this contest and 20 kits will be made available. |

WATER PROJECT |

The District set a Target of 400 shallow tube – wells. To ensure maintenance of these projects, a small amount will also be raised from the local community. The district also encourage the setting up of 10 Deep Tube-well.

CARE FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSONS |

Organizing month long program for physically challenged including Artificial limb, tricycle for Handicapped .
February has been earmarked for physically challenged people . The support will be extended to 500 persons. |

DISCO DANDIYA |

A Musical extravaganza and fellowship tool of our district which also creates a branding & image building of Lionism in and around Kolkata since last several year. This year Disco Dandiya will be organized at Park Hotel from 3rd October to 5th October 2011. |

LIONS UTSAV 2012 |

A Unique Lions extravaganza , full of fun and frolic will be organized in June 2012 where our family members can exhibit their hidden talents. |

ENVIRONMENT PROJECT |

The issue if global warming has come to the forefront for over a decade now. The positive efforts that have already been taken up are too little to reverse the clock and the District will continue to do its bit for the cause in real earnest. Planting of saplings with tree guards, adoption of park and gardens, awareness campaigns for doing away with plastic bags etc. will be taken up. |

PR DRIVE |

Although service activities taken up by Lions have boosted the image of the Association, as an additional effort, billboards and hoarding will be put up in prominent places where Lions will become more visible. |

LIONS PRIVILEGE CARD |

A Lions Membership Card with unique features will be entitled the Holder Excellent Privilege & Handsome Discounts at Certain Outlets, Shopping Malls / Multiplexes will be issued to each members of the district. For the First time in Lionism. This will be a great use for members. |

DISTRICT CABINET |

The proposed cabinet continues to be a compact one. Each cabinet Member will be provided with a detailed portfolio of their duties.

The spouse of cabinet members would also be invited from time to time and would be involve in the district programs.
All cabinet members will have to ensure a minimum strength of 20 members throughout the year in their home club.
All cabinet members would be requested to ensure that their home club is in good standing, pay dues by 15th August (1st half) and 15th February (2nd half), sends monthly WMMR and on line reports to the District and international and participates in district projects, conducts fund rising programs and works towards membership growth and club extension.
Each cabinet members also would be required to make a financial contribution of Rs. 7000/- towards cabinet installation dinner card, cabinet training, Bijaya, Diwali, Maa Tujhe Pranam, Holi Meet Cards and also entitled for one blazer.
